Project Mudra will be visiting all the way from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India to show their newest Braille development – this is what they have to say:
We have built a small handy device with multiple modules which can teach how to read, type and write in Braille. This goes in perfectly with a small refreshable Braille display (under development – could use a lot of help here). We intend to use this hardware and couple it with software which can teach Braille through audio and tactile feedback and also deliver any content. We are currently building an all encompassing software ecosystem which can handle the creation and distribution of this content. Would love to discuss this further with you in person. Looking forward to the next week.
They will be bringing along a prototype to the meeting so if you are interested in a hands-on experience of a new Braille tech development, come along!
