The Canute team have achieved great leaps in producing a much more compact and elegant machine for the Mark 12 prototype. They are rapidly heading towards a production ready machine and are eager to refine the user interface to create the best possible experience.

This is open to anyone who wants to attend. At the meeting Alan Thorpe will talk about what’s inside your Perkins and how it works.

We will once again be sharing our stand with Bristol Braille Technology, demonstrating the latest Canute prototype. We will also be demonstrating A2i Transcription’s Braille QWERTY Keyboard Cover.

Ed Rogers will discuss his journey across Southern India. The group will consider ways in which the Braillists Foundation can learn from Indian practices for teaching and distributing braille, and whether there are any Indian projects we would like to support. It will also be a great opportunity for some post Sight Village chat on all things braille-related.

Meet other braille enthusiasts, try the Canute 360 and Orbit Reader 20, and purchase braille hand frames and styluses. We will also be discussing the formal establishment of the Braillists as a registered charity. We will be heading to a local pub for drinks and a bite to eat afterwords.

We will once again be sharing table space with BBT, demonstrating the latest Canute 360 prototypes. We will also be selling braille hand frames and styluses for just £5 and demonstrating other braille and tactile curios.
